Summary
The Construction Project Manager is accountable for overall project implementation, and will work with clients in life sciences and health care industries. The Project Manager facilitates project feasibility design and analysis, project budgeting, architectural design, and oversight of subs and projects in the health care and life science industries.
Client Details
Full-service General Contractor who works on a variety of projects including health care, education, commercial and municipal. They have been open for almost 100 years and have a reputation in the market for providing successful pre-construction and construction services.
Description
Build and Sustain strong professional relationships with clients, subcontractors and vendors that result in a high level of business retention
Spend up to first year working directly with the Sr. Project Manager and Director of Healthcare on a jointly-managed book of work
Be sufficiently competent with the company's processes, operations, subcontractors and clients within 12-18 months to be given full profit-and-loss responsibility to independently sustain and grow that book of business
Develop an independent (from estimating) project schedule with the Superintendent
Meet with the Client and/or Architect to clarify the project scope
Identify long lead items
Review submittals
Issue for construction drawings
Work with the Superintendent to identify errors and omissions on plans, specifications, submittals and shop drawings
Select vendors, negotiate and award subcontracts and major purchases
Negotiate change orders
Profile
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
5 years experience working for a general contractor
Commercial construction projects required
