The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland is one of the key sites in Shell's global portfolio. The total site has 17 million tons per annum crude oil procession capacity with up to 3.000 staff being employed on site. Next to delivering the classic Oil products, the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland is fully integrated with the Chemicals and Specialities business, producing Ethylene, Propylene, BTX, Bitumen and other specialty products. It is actively contributing to reducing Shell's Net Carbon Footprint while growing new business with projects like e.g. REFHYNE (Green Hydrogen production), Vegetable Oil co-processing and BioLNG.
The Shell Chemicals and Products portfolio of assets is transforming into five highly integrated Energy and Chemicals Parks out of which Rheinland is a key player in the European market.
It consists of the two locations South (Wesseling) and North (Godorf) and has started a major transformation program.
The sites will be transformed from a refinery and chemical plant into a Shell Energy and Chemicals Park of the future. It fulfils and supports Shell's energy transition goals and plays an important role in the energy transition throughout Germany and particular in NRW.

What’s the role?
The Portfolio Scheduler is accountable for the delivery of the overall Progress Status for the Project Portfolio in a timely and qualitative manner to allow the Site Leadership making the right decisions.
The Portfolio Results must be predictable and work as a strong basis for all future Goal setting.
The Scheduler must also coordinate the required external resources for detailed planning of individual projects in agreement with the Team Lead and the individual Project Leads.
The role will also take on board the optimization of the current monitoring tools and procedures (KPIs, Benchmarks) as well as providing focused assurance for the 3rd party delivered schedules.
The Project Scheduler will work in close collaboration with the Cost Portfolio Engineers and the Project Leads.
Under this role you can participate in strategic discussions at a site level for a portfolio of over >250MM€ per year, having a high exposure at Site Leadership level and Opportunity to deliver high end information for the management, as well as international exposure on regional and global forums.
Accountabilities:
Gather and summarize progress for the portfolio of projects, focusing on the critical ones.
Analyse criticality of activities in view of resources availability.
Setting expectations and means for proper planning of 3rd parties and partners
Challenge the probability of success
Reviewing the delivered schedules before decision gates
Contribute to the monthly reports for the Site management, identifying and highlighting key decisions and risks
Deliver schedule-related KPIs based on the available data
Support other functions working on project identification and initiation by means of Feasibility during the first project phases
Contribute to the validation of forecasting based on progress
Special challenges:
The current tools and systems are underdeveloped,
Many players in the organization who are not integrated
The focal points and stakeholders have different backgrounds and understandings. The work requires a lot of effort on alignment and clarity
There are many global initiatives aiming for standardization and improvement, for which we need to get ready ASAP
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from individuals with relevant experience in Scheduling and/or Planning roles in the manufacturing industry (preferably Oil & Gas, Energy, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical or other process industries). You’ll also call on your Degree in Engineering (Dipl. -Ing, Master of Science, Mechanical, Process or technical equivalent education).
We also hope you possess the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering or relevant
Significant experience in the said industries with exposure to planning and scheduling
Understanding of project Metrics and drivers. Understanding of key concepts of critical path, critical activities, Baseline
Extensive experience with MS office and preferably with MS Project & Primavera
Sound understanding of the Staged Gate Project Process (FEL process)
Proven leadership, organisational skills and strong personal drive required at skill level.
Strong team working orientation and ability to motivate and support all involved project team members.
Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex environments
Fluent in English and ability to speak German demonstrated (B2 level in minimum)
