SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the scope and budget generation, design, construction, and project management of large-scale capital projects within the Prepared Foods manufacturing and the Warehousing & Transportation networks.
This position inspires and leads a team of CSA Engineers and reports directly to the Director, Engineering with Discipline Engineering responsibilities and will focus primarily on CSA Engineering functions.
ESSENTIAL CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CSA subject matter expert for Prepared Foods group.
Ensure projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives while meeting all code and regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain CSA specifications, standards, and other technical information including innovative technologies to improve sustainability and energy efficiency.
Analyze system performance and develop improvement and energy conservation opportunities.
Provide technical advice to plants and assist with advanced CSA troubleshooting.
As needed, provide CSA designs for new projects, evaluate existing CSA systems, and recommend changes or additions as deemed necessary, prepare cost estimates and implementation plans.
Interface daily with Prepared Foods Engineers, Plant, and Warehouse/Transportation network team members.
Monitor, report, and distribute reporting metrics to cross-functional teams regarding the status and progress of team projects.
Review project CIRs for validity, scope, design QA, and network impact.
Review CSA drawing and bid submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses.
Review project metrics for reasonableness, improve project control through process improvement and user training.
Guide and assist operations and engineering teams to adhere to Tyson Prepared Foods Engineering design specifications.
Create ad-hoc reports, analyses, and presentations as requested/needed.
Assist manufacturing facilities with advanced electrical system trouble shooting.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent, PE license preferred
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5-7 years of applicable engineering experience with food industry experience preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge and working use of computer programs, including spreadsheets, databases.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate and report out to Managers, General Managers, VPs, SVPs, Presidents, and Senior Leadership Team on an as needed basis.
PREFERRED COMPUTER SKILLS: CAD, Revit, and/or other design software systems
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Must be capable of working on multi-faceted CSA projects of any magnitude.
Demonstrated repeated ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
Detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Influential leadership skills a must.
TRAVEL:
Up to 50%, multi-day stays required; overnight stays required; ability to egress uneven surfaces in construction and plant environments safely and easily.
