A Professional Engineer job is available with the City of Fort Worth Development Services Department within the Infrastructure Plan Review Center (IPRC) team. The ideal candidate must have general civil engineering experience to perform project management duties and professional civil engineering work. The Professional Engineer will need to possess general civil engineering knowledge in the areas of water distribution, wastewater collection, street, storm drain, and traffic engineering.
The IPRC team is a part of the Infrastructure Division of the Development Services Department. The team serves the City by reviewing infrastructure construction plans associated with private development projects in the City of Fort Worth.
The Professional Engineer job responsibilities include:
Coordinate and communicate with Fort Worth citizens, the development community, outside agencies, and internal City departments.
While the work is technical in nature, there is a strong focus on customer service.
Possesses high emotional intelligence, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Plan review, design, inspections and administering contracts related to infrastructure improvement projects.
Possesses general civil engineering knowledge in the areas of water distribution, wastewater collection, street and storm drain, and traffic engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering or related field.
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience, including two (2) years in the assigned area of responsibility.
Possession of current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, then continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six (6) months of employment.
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years or more experience in the area of project management.
Two (2) years or more experience in the area of plan preparation, plan review and/or construction management.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Pro, and geographic information systems (GIS)
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and produce deliverables on time and within budget.
Past municipal experience, especially development review work.
Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Medical Program
The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

Vacation
Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually

Wellness Program
